Welcome to The School of Education at Clark Atlanta University. The faculty and staff of the School of Education at Clark Atlanta University welcome you to our website. Thank you for your interest in either beginning or continuing a career in the education (P-12), higher education or the counseling profession. It is our mission to recruit, prepare and support outstanding teachers, mental health professionals, and administrators who will create lifelong opportunities for America’s diverse urban communities.

Clark Atlanta University is a comprehensive institution dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, scholarship, creative work and service. Every day, we prepare and challenge current and future educators, counselors and leaders. Whether pursuing bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degrees, our graduates are more than mere instructors, counselors, and educational leaders, they are learner advocates equipped with the knowledge, skills and dispositions to become change agents.

Clark Atlanta University’s School of Education faculty, staff and students believe that every child, regardless of language, culture, ethnicity, perceived ability and/or circumstances, can learn. The School of Education is organized into three academic divisions: Curriculum and Instruction; Educational Leadership, and Counselor Education. Our state approved and nationally accredited teacher education, educational leadership and counseling programs ensure that graduates are well-prepared to meet the standards required by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).  Our master’s programs in school and clinical mental health counseling are nationally recognized and accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
